Film Prize Junior is a statewide youth film education program and competition that allows students to tell their own stories through the exciting art of filmmaking. Since 2016, Film Prize Junior has transformed the lives of thousands of Louisiana students, making them more skilled, confident, and engaged learners, and your students could be next!
NO EXPERIENCE - NO PROBLEM!

Whether you are a seasoned media teacher or have no experience whatsoever, Film Prize Junior is open to you! Our team supports you along the way and offers teacher training events both in-person and online so that you have the basics to pass on to your students.
Our virtual Learning Center is a step by step guide that will walk you through coming up with ideas, learning story structure, writing scripts, planning your short film production, filming, all the way through post production! Film Prize Junior makes filmmaking accessible and fun. Our goal is to see you and your students succeed.
HOW TO JOIN FILM PRIZE JUNIOR LOUISIANA
Film Prize Junior is open to students in grades 5–12, but only teachers or adults leading extracurricular programs may register. Students interested in participating should speak with their teacher or a parent/guardian for guidance.
2025 STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL
115 incredible short films created by students from 63 schools across Louisiana premiered at the 2025 Film Prize Junior Festival on May 2–3. These projects are the result of months of hard work, creativity, and collaboration between passionate student filmmakers and their dedicated teacher producers.
