Film Prize Junior is Louisiana’s statewide film education program and student film competition for students in grades 5–12.
Film Prize Jr launched in 2016. Since then, we have supported over 8,000 students from more than 200 schools to create over 600 short films which we featured on the big screen at our annual festival.
NO EXPERIENCE - NO PROBLEM!
Whether you are a seasoned media teacher or have no experience whatsoever, Film Prize Junior is open to you! Our team supports you along the way and offers teacher training events both in-person and online so that you have the basics to pass on to your students.
Our virtual Learning Center is a step by step guide that will walk you through coming up with ideas, learning story structure, writing scripts, planning your short film production, filming, all the way through post production! Film Prize Junior makes filmmaking accessible and fun. Our goal is to see you and your students succeed.
HOW TO JOIN FILM PRIZE JUNIOR LOUISIANA
Only teachers or sponsors leading extracurricular programs may register. Students interested in participating should speak with their teacher or a parent/guardian for guidance.
Registration for the 2026-2027 school year is not yet open.
Teachers, Parents, and Admin should request more information to participate in the upcoming school year!
