For me, it can open up more opportunities in the film making industry. I would like to think that having something such as, "Previously directed (or acted, edited, etc) a short film" or something along the lines of that is nice to see in a resume. It could help by showing that you have some filming work under your belt. Or that you at least understand what does happen for a film. For myself personally, if I could get a few good strings pulled, I could be a possible actor in an actual series. With experience from this also.

Never underestimate time. You may say, "Oh, we can do that next week", or brush something off. But don't. I am sitting here today, Wednesday, writing this and even I am not completed yet. So don't push things off for a different time. Do it as soon as you can. Also, be flexible. One of the reasons I didn't get this finished sooner was because of an actor who wasn't willing to work with me on this. I tried to get it to work, but they didn't have the passion for it like I did. Just... be smart.
