We’re thrilled to introduce the Film Prize Junior PSA Summer Intensive, an immersive, real-world filmmaking experience for passionate high school students. FPJR will select 6–10 Film Prize Jr participants to join a small production team and create a professional-quality PSA for a real client, working side by side with industry mentors. Across eight days, students will dive into every stage of the filmmaking process, from pitching ideas to final edits, gaining hands-on experience and creative confidence along the way. This year’s project will center on teen suicide prevention, with guidance from subject matter experts. The program runs Monday–Thursday, July 13–16 and 20–23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is completely free, and will take place at the Prize Foundation offices in Shreveport. We encourage you to share this exciting opportunity with motivated Film Prize Jr students in grades 9–12 in the Shreveport-Bossier area.

Whether you are a seasoned media teacher or have no experience whatsoever, Film Prize Junior is open to you! Our team supports you along the way and offers teacher training events both in-person and online so that you have the basics to pass on to your students.

Our virtual Learning Center is a step by step guide that will walk you through coming up with ideas, learning story structure, writing scripts, planning your short film production, filming, all the way through post production! Film Prize Junior makes filmmaking accessible and fun. Our goal is to see you and your students succeed.
