I want the audience to glean their own experience from the film. It was written and edited to be left open for interpretation, challenging you to really analyze and think about everything that’s happening. There are a few different possibilities for how The Archaeologist’s story ends; it’s up to the viewer to decide what happens to her.

These opportunities are important for young filmmakers to have the chance to be seen and recognized by those working in the film industry. The chance to connect with likeminded peers is one that I am honored to have.

The final climax scene was a lot of fun; we had my brother laying on the floor with bits of torn paper that he fed into a fan to blow all over the room and ruffle her hair. That is one of my favorite shots from the film and I loved how it turned out.

Time constraints was the most limiting factor in the making of the film. This process taught me the importance of creating a clear plan as well as time management in a production.

If you approach filmmaking of any budget with a creative mindset, even the most complex ideas on paper can be translated effectively to the screen. Don’t limit yourself based on how much money, time, or help you have. There’s always a way to achieve what you set out to accomplish.
