FILMMAKER INTERVIEW
What do you want the audience to take away from the film?
I want the audience to take away the knowledge of opera’s influence on New Orleans.
Why are opportunities like Film Prize Junior important to students like you?
Opportunities like these are important because it gives lots of kids the chance to express their ideas and show the things that they’ve learned.
Which scene did you have an absolute blast filming and why?
I had a blast filming the scene of the singer from Germany, Tyrone Chambers, performing an aria because the piano had a lot of famous people play on it the peoples house, we filmed in was so pretty. Also, their pugs were really cute.
What obstacles challenged you and your crew the most when completing this film? What did you learn from making this short film?
Some obstacles we faced was definitely staying on task and being adaptable with the resources provided to us, and I think we did this pretty well. From this film I learned to be patient and adaptable to the circumstances we faced. My goal for sharing this film is to spread history about New Orleans that people may not have known before.
What advice would you give to future participants in Film Prize Junior?
If I could give advice to future Film Prize Jr. participants, I would tell them to plan ahead and go with the flow.
