What do you want the audience to take away from the film?
Life can be challenging. No matter your situation, you can overcome any obstacle to achieve your dream.
Why are opportunities like Film Prize Junior important to students like you?
It’s important to students like me because it allows me to experience live-action production and use my talents and gifts.
Which scene did you have an absolute blast filming and why?
We had time to bond with each other. Students who normally don’t interact had the opportunity to do so.
What obstacles challenged you and your crew the most when completing this film? What did you learn from making this short film?
The first challenge was going from Friday Remix to Our Day Remix. We had to come up with something in a short period of time. The mother and daughter scene was challenging also. One challenge was finding a place to shoot. The other was trying to sync the scenes of the mother and daughter. I learned that I have gifts in me that have gone untapped until now.
What advice would you give to future participants in Film Prize Junior?
Don’t hold yourself back. If you take the step to try, you will find there are talents you have been holding back.
