The hardest part was the crazy cockroach scene. We couldn't use a real bug (that would be too wild!), so we had to use a toy and some computer magic to make it look real. Also, it was tough helping our young actors show real feelings in the sad scenes, especially in the hospital. But everyone tried their best, and we think the movie turned out great!

The hallway scene with Maurice the cockroach was totally epic. You should have seen everyone trying to act scared of our fake bug while trying not to laugh. Our actor who plays Madison screamed so loud during one take that the real principal came running. And when our teacher actor had to pretend to slip and fall, he made the funniest faces. Even Jake, who was supposed to be super mad, couldn't keep a straight face. The best part was watching everyone jump on the benches in total chaos - it was like a weird dance party.

While making this film, I learned that telling stories about real feelings - like being different or losing someone you love - is super important. Our whole team discovered that even though these are tough topics, we can still make them relatable and even add some fun moments (like Maurice the cockroach's great escape!).I also learned how powerful it is when actors really understand their characters. Our actors who played Oliver and Jake helped us see how two totally different kids could become friends when they realize they're both dealing with similar sad feelings. Most importantly, we learned that working together as a team makes everything better. When someone messed up their lines or our fake bug wouldn't work right, we didn't get mad - we helped each other and usually ended up laughing about it.
